The Food Bank is an innovative social model that turns potential food waste into a resource for survival and dignity for hundreds of thousands of Romanians.
A National Network Built on Respect and Responsibility
Founded in 2016 in Bucharest after the European Food Bank model, our network has expanded rapidly to include 9 regional banks today: Bucharest, Cluj, Roman/Iași, Brașov, Oradea, Timișoara, Constanța, Craiova, and Galați.
We collect good, edible food free of charge from producers, processors, and major retailers — products with lightly damaged packaging, surplus stock, or nearing expiry — and distribute it at no cost to partner associations.
